Demopulse is a private, independent platform for citizen opinion about political news, public affairs and commentary from people using the application. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Demopulse is not a government application and does not represent any government entity. Demopulse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorised by, or operated by any government, and is not used on behalf of any public authority, ministry, agency, municipality, embassy, regulator, electoral authority, court, police service, consulate, public institution or elected official. The app does not facilitate access to public services, does not process any administrative request, does not issue any official document, does not collect any official form, does not manage any public benefit, does not provide any legal or administrative advice, and does not replace any official government website. Demopulse lets people using the application follow political news, read public discussions, and share citizen opinions under a pseudonym about public figures, public decisions and current events. Demopulse is centred on commentary, discussion and citizen expression. When content concerns public affairs, people using the application should always verify official information directly with the relevant government websites and public institutions. Examples of official government information sources: https://www.canada.ca https://www.usa.gov https://www.gov.uk https://www.whitehouse.gov https://www.elysee.fr https://www.europarl.europa.eu When a discussion in Demopulse is based on a news article or an external public source, the app may display or link to the original source so people using the application can consult it directly. Demopulse is never the official government source of any government information. With Demopulse, people using the application can: • Follow political news and public events through discussion • Read conversations about current events and public figures • Rate the perceived impact of political leaders and other major public figures • Share citizen comments and opinions under a pseudonym • Explore other people's reactions Demopulse is intended solely for information, commentary, public discussion and citizen expression. The content available in the app does not constitute official government information, legal advice, administrative guidance, emergency assistance, electoral guidance, or public-service assistance. It is not an official government service and must not be used as a replacement for official websites, agencies, institutions, procedures or emergency services.
In plain words
Demopulse is a private, independent app for opinions and discussion about politics. It is NOT a government app and is not linked to any government. You cannot use it for official things like passports, taxes, voting, benefits, or emergencies — for those, always use official government websites. Demopulse is just for following news and sharing opinions.
Demopulse is a live public-opinion platform where people rate and comment on the actions of public figures, such as politicians and government officials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Demopulse, you confirm that you are 18 or older and you agree to these Terms of Use. Some features — commenting, replying, rating and following public figures — require a free Demopulse account. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.
In plain words
Demopulse lets you rate and comment on public figures. You must be 18 or older. Using the app means you accept these rules. Some actions, like commenting, need an account.
Demopulse gathers short opinions and star ratings from many people and uses automated systems (artificial intelligence) to turn them into aggregated summaries — a live pulse of public sentiment about a public figure. These summaries reflect the opinions of people using the application, not statements of fact. Demopulse does not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for any opinion shared on the platform, and does not represent any government, party, or candidate.
In plain words
The app collects lots of opinions and uses artificial intelligence to sum them up. These summaries show what people think — they are not facts, and Demopulse does not take sides.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Creating an account requires a valid email address, which we verify with a one-time confirmation code. You choose a unique public pseudonym and a pixel-art avatar. Pseudonyms are screened by automated moderation: offensive, hateful, impersonating, or non-identifiable names (such as "Anonymous" or equivalents) are rejected, because every contribution on Demopulse must carry an identifiable public name. You are responsible for everything done through your account. You control your email preferences: follow-digest and marketing emails each include a one-click unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and you can also manage them from your profile; essential service messages (such as sign-in verification, security, and moderation or account notices) are not marketing and are always sent. You may delete your account at any time from your profile; deletion is permanent and removes your personal data and content as described in our Privacy Policy.
In plain words
You need to be 18+ and give a real email to sign up. You pick a public nickname and avatar. You cannot be "Anonymous" — everyone posts under a name. You can turn off follow and marketing emails with a one-click link or in your profile, but important account emails are always sent. You are responsible for your account and can delete it anytime.
Demopulse has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You must not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive, that incites violence or illegal acts, or that otherwise violates the rights of others. Genuine, good-faith political criticism, satire and humour directed at public figures are welcome — cruelty, hate, and abuse are not. To keep conversations thoughtful and reduce spam, each account may post up to three (3) comments or replies per day. We may change this limit at any time.
In plain words
Be respectful. No hate, threats, lies, sexual content, or calls for violence. Sharp criticism and jokes about politicians are fine — attacking people is not. You can post up to 3 times a day.
Every comment and reply is automatically reviewed by artificial-intelligence moderation before it is shown. Content the system flags as potentially harmful is obscured and hidden from view by default. This protection is ON by default for everyone, on every visit. On the mobile apps, moderation is always on and can NEVER be turned off. On the web only, an adult using the application may choose to turn this protection off. Doing so is entirely optional and requires an explicit, separate confirmation. If you turn moderation off, you will be shown comments and replies that our artificial intelligence flagged as offensive, explicit, hateful, abusive or otherwise harmful, in full and unmoderated. You may be exposed to shocking, disturbing or deeply offensive written content. You do this at your own risk and take full responsibility for viewing such content, and you confirm you are of the legal age of majority in your country. The setting is never saved: protection automatically returns to ON when you reload the page, sign out, or reopen the app. Turning moderation off never reveals content that has been permanently removed for a severe violation (see Section 7): removed content stays hidden from everyone. Automated systems are not perfect and may occasionally flag content incorrectly; you may contact us to contest a decision.
In plain words
A computer checks every post before anyone sees it, and harmful ones are hidden. This protection is ON by default. In the phone apps it can never be turned off. On the website only, an adult can choose to turn it off — but then you will see the harsh, offensive or disturbing posts the artificial intelligence hid, and that is your choice and your responsibility. It switches back ON by itself when you reload or reopen. Posts that were fully removed stay hidden for everyone.
You can report any comment or reply you find objectionable. You can hide an individual comment so you no longer see it, and you can block another person using the application so that none of their content is ever shown to you again. Reports are handled as described in Section 7. These tools are available on every comment and reply throughout the app. You cannot report or reply to your own content.
In plain words
You can flag posts you think are bad, hide posts you do not want to see, and block people so you never see them again. Flagged posts get reviewed (see the next section).
Reports are processed automatically at least once every 24 hours. When a comment is reported, the outcome depends on its history: (a) If the comment had already passed automated moderation as safe, no action is taken, and the reporter is informed. (b) If the comment had been flagged by automated moderation, it is reviewed a second time by a dedicated artificial intelligence system that assesses severity against recognised objectionable-content standards — including hateful, defamatory or mean-spirited attacks on protected groups, incitement to violence, illegal-weapons content, sexual or exploitative content, inflammatory religious content, knowingly false information, and content exploiting tragedies. Genuine political satire and humour are not treated as severe. — If the content is NOT judged severe, it remains hidden by moderation but is not further penalised, and it will not be reviewed again on future reports. The reporter is informed. — If the content IS judged severe, it is permanently removed for everyone (including where moderation is turned off), together with any replies to it, and its author receives a formal warning by email. The reporter is informed that the content was removed. Warnings are counted per calendar year. You may receive up to two (2) warnings in a calendar year. A third (3rd) confirmed severe violation within the same calendar year results in a 30-day suspension of your account: you can no longer sign in, and your content is hidden from the platform, but your data is kept during this period. Because these decisions are automated, you may contest a warning or a suspension by contacting us; if a suspension is overturned, your account and content are restored. If a suspension is not overturned within 30 days, your account and all of your content are permanently deleted. We may also act manually where appropriate.
In plain words
Flagged-and-reported posts get a second artificial intelligence check. If it is not that bad, it stays hidden but nothing else happens. If it is serious (hate, threats, and so on), it is deleted everywhere and the author gets a warning email. You can get 2 warnings in a year. A 3rd serious violation in the same year suspends your account for 30 days — you cannot log in and your posts are hidden, but your data is kept so you can appeal. If you do not appeal successfully within 30 days, the account is deleted for good. You can always email us to contest a decision.
Your comments, replies and ratings are displayed publicly next to your chosen pseudonym and avatar. Your email address, date of birth and real identity are never shown publicly. Individual opinions are also combined by artificial intelligence into aggregated summaries and statistics about each public figure. By posting, you grant Demopulse a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and aggregate your contributions for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. Aggregated summaries contain no personal data and may be retained even after your account is deleted.
In plain words
Your posts show your nickname and avatar, never your email or real name. Your opinions are also blended into overall summaries. Those anonymous summaries may be kept even if you delete your account.
Demopulse relies on third-party artificial intelligence services for several features: screening pseudonyms and moderating content, assessing the severity of reported content, generating the aggregated opinion summaries, producing contextual news about public figures, and creating illustrations. Details of the providers involved and the data shared with them are set out in our Privacy Policy. Artificial intelligence outputs may contain errors or omissions, do not reflect the views of Demopulse, and must not be treated as statements of fact.
In plain words
The app uses outside artificial intelligence tools to check posts, sum up opinions, write news, and make pictures. The Privacy Policy names them. Artificial intelligence can make mistakes, and its results are not official facts.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Demopulse is not responsible for content generated by people using the application or for insights generated by artificial intelligence, which do not constitute factual statements or official assessments. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Demopulse and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
In plain words
We provide the app as-is. We are not responsible for what people post or for artificial intelligence summaries, and our legal responsibility is limited as far as the law allows.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
In plain words
We may update these rules. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the app, you accept the new rules.
Demopulse operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
